Requirements:
- degree in engineering
- relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering preferably with electrical / automation & control products
- experience of new product introduction, process revalidation and quality improvement
- understanding of inspection processes and quality control procedures
- auditor/assessment capabilities
- skilled in working with technical drawings and specifications
- experience in direct purchasing/supply chain management would be an advantage
- understanding of manufacturing processes and the cost drivers
- ability to work in a team and to communicate globally
- willingness to travel regionally and internationally
- excellent written and spoken English
Duties:
- ensuring product integrity for component or system is delivered through alignment of Method of Manufacture with Design Intent by interfacing with appropriate Design Engineering organization
- ensuring that Technical Packages used are consistent with established best practice
- influencing the commodity strategies and sourcing decisions with technical knowledge
- facilitating the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies, as identified by commodity strategies and product development
- validating the suppliers Method of Manufacture and capability
- educating and coaching suppliers in the application of relevant specifications
- ensuring the change to product method or source is controlled appropriately in the supply chain
- leading/supporting “Build In Quality" for the introduction of new product to ensure capabilities meet the design intent, capability, rate and cost requirements
