Requirements:
- successful completion of a relevant Diploma/Certificate in appropriate Civil Engineering discipline from a recognised Tertiary Institution
- postgraduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline will be highly regarded
- minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience in design
- 5 years post Corporate Membership experience in planning, design, contract and construction services
- experience in working within a statutory organisation or consulting industry
- experience in supervising all aspects of civil design including: the application of design standards, managing specialist sub-consultants, and complex project
- delivery methods
- experience in working in a design and tendered design services environment
- good written and verbal communication skills
- an ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions
- ability to team build, organise staff and prioritise works
- ability to work well within and lead a site based team of mixed nationalities
- experience in Microsoft applications
- ability to build rapport with work colleagues
- previous experience in the geometric design of roads using SDr or MX and use of Microstation and/or Autocad
- construction/maintenance experience desirable
- familiarity with UK, Australian or US design guidelines
Duties:
- the main duties of the Highways PM include, but are not limited to:
- manage projects to meet time, cost and quality requirements
- deploy and manage appropriate resources for the projects
- ensure costs and billing are correctly entered onto the appropriate systems
- ensure prompt issue of invoices and collection from clients
- ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to prescribed quality
- maintain regular contacts with clients and authorities
- lead teams to prepare project proposals for submissions and to implement projects in respect of planning, design and construction services
- supervise ongoing project activities
- carry out Quality Assurance as required by the Company Systems
- recruit and train technical staff to discharge above duties and organise project teams for effective and efficient project implementation
- obtain first hand information with regard to business development and pursue relevant opportunities
