Requirements:
- degree in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
- experience in developing embedded software systems
- knowledge and experience in C/C++ programming
- working knowledge of typical communication interfaces (Ethernet, RS485, RS232)
- knowledge of standard communication protocols used in Industrial Automation (Modbus, Profibus DP, CAN, OPC)
- good English verbal and written communication skills
Desired:
- knowledge of typical microprocessor and microcontroller architectures (preferably Siemens C167)
- working knowledge of the Tasking C++ development environment
- knowledge of programming in other high level languages like VB, C#, scripting languages
- working knowledge of the Offshore Oil and Gas industry would be considered an asset
Duties:
- conceptual design of embedded software components for both control and communication devices
- implementation of controls related algorithms used for data acquisition, device driving and communication
- interpretation of system level requirements to be implemented in the embedded control system
- creation of Software Design and Test Specifications for specific software components
- conduct qualification testing of new control systems and/or fault diagnosis of existing systems in the Engineering laboratory or on customer site
