The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- B.Sc., M.Sc. or PhD in material science/metallurgy/chemical engineering or a related discipline
- academic or practical background in materials science/metallurgy/chemistry
- good knowledge of the materials and their properties (stainless, heat resistant steels, nickel and cobalt alloys)
- a background in the special processes such as welding, brazing and heat treatment would be advantageous
- strong verbal and written English
- good organizational skills
Duties:
- develop, evaluate, and improve special process methods and procedures
- prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests
- confer with engineers to conduct analyses of research projects and interpret test results
- communicate with customer and industry representatives on all special process matters
- active participation in cost reduction projects/activities
