Requirements:
- degree in engineering
- strong Manufacturing/Industrial/Process engineering background
- sound knowledge in the field of composite materials engineering
- understanding of principles of finance with a sound understanding of cost drivers and cost models would be highly advantageous
- understanding of lean principles
- proven track record in delivering results
- ability to work in a team and to communicate globally
- willingness to travel regionally and internationally intensively
- excellent written and spoken English
Duties:
- identifying supplier cost drivers & driving cost improvement
- identifying & developing cost reduction opportunities and prioritizing to deliver timely target cost - through engagement within the supply chain
- leading development of component / sub system cost models (inc. User Friendly Cost Standards) using Value Improvement & Engineering tools & techniques as appropriate
- ensuring that User Friendly Cost Standards are generated and deployed in line with global commodity strategy
- developing of global commodity User Friendly Cost Standards (UFCS's)
- deploying commodity specific User Friendly Cost Standards training
- continuously leading /mentoring Buyers/Engineering/Integrated Project Teams & SCU (IPT's) to optimize cost during negotiation/product development process
