Requirements:

  • degree in engineering
  • strong Manufacturing/Industrial/Process engineering background
  • sound knowledge in the field of composite materials engineering
  • understanding of principles of finance with a sound understanding of cost drivers and cost models would be highly advantageous
  • understanding of lean principles
  • proven track record in delivering results
  • ability to work in a team and to communicate globally
  • willingness to travel regionally and internationally intensively
  • excellent written and spoken English

Duties:

  • identifying supplier cost drivers & driving cost improvement
  • identifying & developing cost reduction opportunities and prioritizing to deliver timely target cost - through engagement within the supply chain
  • leading development of component / sub system cost models (inc. User Friendly Cost Standards) using Value Improvement & Engineering tools & techniques as appropriate
  • ensuring that User Friendly Cost Standards are generated and deployed in line with global commodity strategy
  • developing of global commodity User Friendly Cost Standards (UFCS's)
  • deploying commodity specific User Friendly Cost Standards training
  • continuously leading /mentoring Buyers/Engineering/Integrated Project Teams & SCU (IPT's) to optimize cost during negotiation/product development process
