The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

  • graduate of mechanical studies or similar faculty
  • excellent command of English
  • knowledge of the fundamentals of jet/turbofan engine architecture,
experience in maintenance, service or production of turbine engines highly appreciated,working knowledge of data bases and information processing methods welcome
  • teamwork skills, good work organization, ability to learn fast, commitment to work

Duties:

  • communicating with aircraft engines’ operators - recommendations on the airworthiness of specific components and service book interpretation
  • troubleshooting and investigating inconsistencies arising from commercial jet engine hardware operation on the basis of technical documentation analysis
  • initiating and introducing new designs of particular engine parts into operation
  • monitoring aircraft engines’ fleet reliability parameters
  • participating in the investigation of root causes of undesirable engine behavior leading to unexpected off-wing engine removal
  • optimization of time, repair cost, and overhaul resulting in reduced maintenance cost of engine fleet for airlines
