The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl
Requirements:
- Degree Qualified in an Engineering discipline
- knowledge of hazardous locations protection rules and standards (ATEX, NEC, CSA)
- industrial experience of the design of field electrical wiring routing and electrical packaging
- knowledge of turbomachinery (Gas Turbine, Centrifugal Compressors, etc) auxiliary systems will be an asset
- knowledge of Primary & Electrical hook-ups for hazardous locations
- ability to use engineering support software (CAD)
- knowledge of design for customer and international design standards
- ability to produce design specifications and associated documentation
- ability to produce innovative and cost effective design solutions within project timescales and budget without compromising design quality
- proven problem solver capable of readily applying expertise to problems
- ability to find and define a pragmatic and workable engineering solution
- ability to assimilate new information quickly.
- adaptable and responsive to changing requirements and circumstances
- ability to work both in a team environment and under own supervision
- ability to coordinate complex projects and design flow
- confident communicator at all levels: written and spoken English, presentations and meetings, technical and administrative
Duties:
- selection of filed instrumentation and related equipment according process conditions and relevant standards (Field Instrumentation - pressure, temperature, flow, level, Fire & Gas detection systems etc) for GE Oil&Gas products
- creating bill of materials for primary connections and field wiring routing (electrical packaging)
- preparing of instrumentation related engineering documentation
- coordination of engineering sub-suppliers
- participate as necessary in discussions with customers and visit job sites as required
- interpret customer specifications to produce design specifications
- cooperation with other project team members, project engineer, planner etc.
