Employer description:

The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

  • Master degree in metallurgy/material engineering or related field
  • Sound knowledge of structural steels their properties and heat treatment
  • Knowledge of metallic and non metallic corrosion protection coatings
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards related to steels and nondestructive testing
  • Additional experience in failure analysis will be beneficial
  • Demonstrated English language written and verbal communication skills
  • Self motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Duties:

  • Manufacturing Support - evaluation of manufacturing processes and disposition of supplier non-conformances
  • Field support– solving customer’s issues related to assigned hardware and manufacturing processes
  • Support of new suppliers qualification process and first piece qualifications
  • Participate to RCA related to wind tower system failure issues
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to provide engineering technical guidance and support related to material and processing application.
  • Customer sites visits when necessary
