The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing, engineering or repair services environment
- experience with complex tooling and/or fixture design
- knowledge about special processes (e.g. welding, brazing, heat treating)
- demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills
- ability to work remotely with diverse global teams
- aviation hardware design/repair or other relevant engineering experience
- strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to coordinate global team members to execute projects and priorities
- strong project support and management skills with the ability to monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments
- strong oral and written communication skills
- anticipate customer needs and ensures that they are met
- measure processes and performance through the customer's eyes
- can energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
Duties:
- the Repair Engineer will be responsible for support the identification, development, and industrialization of repair procedures and processes as well as daily technical support for repair shops and external customers
- travel to global GE and non-GE repair shops to support RTCoE (Repair Technology Center of Excellence) repair project endeavors by: identifying productivity opportunities, facilitating training for tooling and process usage, optimizing and validating delivered projects, developing training and instruction for delivered solutions, and fully supporting repair shops personnel in the implementation and execution of repairs
- creation and implementation of repair documents into Engine Manual
- providing technical disposition of non-conforming hardware to the customer
- optimization of repair processes through design approval and complete industrialization
- execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- substantiation for developed processes and procedure
