The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- master degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- practical knowledge of mechanical analysis with FE tools in CAE systems (preferred ANSYS and UG)
- practical knowledge of mechanical simulation with Matlab/Simulink package
- good English
- ability to work under pressure and changing requirements
- good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- self-motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Duties:
- design pitch change mechanism system, including development of dynamic behavior model
- design of low and /or high pressure compressor components
- design of low pressure turbine components (rotors, stators, airfoils)
- perform steady state / transient mechanical (static & dynamic) analysis
- calculate component life with consideration for various failure mechanisms
- supporting team in analysis, design, test and validation using FEM tools
- customer sites visits when necessary
- participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
- provide timely communications on projects status
