Requirements:

  • as a professional engineer you will have a considerable depth of experience to execute and manage Feasibility Studies, FEED and EPC projects. This will have been gained in a Contractor or Operating Company environment - significant post graduate design experience is a pre-requisite for this senior role
  • significant experience in the design of Safety Instrumented Systems (ESD Systems)
  • extensive experience in leading the Automation design of small/medium or large projects (DCS / SCADA)
  • significant experience in instrumentation and control systems
  • significant experience in the specification and selection of Instrumentation for use within Hazardous Area applications
  • experience in all aspects of SIL / TUV assessment: Qualitative and Quantitative methods involving loop design to achieve required integrity as per BS (EN) 61508, BS (EN) 61511 and BS (EN) 61513
  • writing and review of Control System and Instrumentation Client standards
  • experience in control and instrument design for the Nuclear industry including design substantiation and safety case requirements

Duties:

  • as a C & I Engineer you will be working across the full portfolio of UK Operations Scotland workload
  • assisting the Project Management team on C & I issues including advising the manpower requirements to maintain and meet project programme
  • acting as a Technical Specialist who shall assist Control and Instrument Group personnel in all aspects of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) design and implementation
  • working with Control and Instrument Group team members to complete scopes of work within agreed time frames, control budgets and to accepted project plan, technical and client requirements
  • ensuring all vendor bids and documentation are reviewed for technical acceptability
  • liaising with Project Engineering and other design team members
Client Liaison to ensure all client documentation is reviewed for acceptability and updated as agreed by the Client and Project Management
  • assisting the program Quality Manager and PM to meet Health and Safety and overall project quality objectives
  • ensuring that all relevant work instructions including any project specific contractual requirements are adhered to
  • ensuring project financial performance within assigned projects including management of scope / budget changes during project life cycle
  • developing and maintaining excellent relationships with the other discipline leads on the projects
  • leading and assisting in the career development of the Instrument & Control Engineering team
  • providing assistance to the business development team in the preparation and presentation of proposals
