Employer description:

The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

  • BSC or MSC degree from an accredited university
  • experience in performing analyses related to heat transfer or fluid mechanics is welcome
  • knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics principles
  • practical knowledge of using modern commercial CFD solvers will be an advantage (e.g. CFX, Fluent)
  • practical knowledge of using meshing software will be an advantage (e.g. Gambit, ICEM-CFD)
  • knowledge of physics of icing phenomena and de-icing methods in relation to aviation industry will be an advantage
  • strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience of getting work done from engineering suppliers

Duties:

  • execute engine inlets anti-icing system projects.
  • provide engineering Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and icing analyses using Fluent, CFX & FENSAP-ICE.
  • work closely with design team on design process for NPI programs.
  • provide updates on progress and quality of deliverables on a regular basis to ensure on-time delivery
