Employer description:

The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

  • Electronics Engineering BSc degree or equivalent
  • experience with Micro-controller (or Micro-processor) based digital system development
  • proficiency in multi-layer, double sided, surface mount and through-hole Printed Circuit Board design
  • experience with electrical schematic capture and analysis tools: Altium (Protel), Pspice, MathCAD, Matlab or equivalent
  • knowledge about analogue and digital communication methods and techniques
  • knowledge about transmission lines (distribution of both power and communications)
  • knowledge on industrial instrumentation and analogue signal conditioning as well as field-bus architectures (Profibus, Modbus, CANbus, etc.)
  • familiar with designing for CE compliance (EMCD, LVWD, RoHS, WEEE, etc.)

Duties:

  • specification and design of micro-controller based data acquisition and control PCB assemblies (PCBAs)
  • digital and analogue design simulations
  • design and development of prototype electrical functions and assemblies
  • configuration and adaption of existing standard subsea designs to meet new projects requirements
  • design of custom test equipment
  • generation and maintenance of general engineering design documentation
