The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- Master degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- practical knowledge of thermal and flow analyses with FEM tools (preferred Patran)
- ability to work independently (under pressure and changing requirements) and as a part of a team
- good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- self-motivated
- good English communication skills
Duties:
- perform steady state / transient flow and thermal analyses
- design, redesign of low and /or high pressure compressor components (rotors, stators, airfoils)
- design, redesign of low and /or high pressure turbine components (rotors, stators, airfoils)
- calculate rotor thrust on bearings
- supporting team in analysis, design, test and validation using FEM tools
- customer sites visits when necessary
- participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
- provide timely communications on projects status
