The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

  • Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanic, Nuclear, Aeronautical)
  • experience in turbomachinery engineering design will be an advantage
  • 3D modeling experience
  • ANSYS (or other FEA) essential knowledge
  • technical drawing and design interpretation background
  • intermediate knowledge of spoken and written English
  • ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • fast-learner, open- minded, responsible person with optimistic attitude
  • demonstrated communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Duties:

  • conceive ideas to solve mechanical problems on combustion chambers and fuel nozzles for Gas Turbine
  • develop the solutions using 3D/2D CAD modeling and drafting support
  • conduct structural/thermal calculations to determine component stress and life
  • prepare work packages for outsourcing of engineering work when required
  • present ideas & analysis results through design reviews and drawing sign-off
  • validate designs through lab testing and field hardware review
  • document all work in design record books
  • support designs from concept through fleet utilization
