Requirements:
- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Master degree
- minimum 2 years R&D experience in industrial or academic environment including activities related to rotordynamics of turbomachinery, machinery dynamics and vibrations
- Desired:
- working knowledge of computational tools used in the development and design of rotating components and rotordynamics
- basics in Finite Element Method codes (ANSYS)
- experience with the design and selection of roller and fluid film bearings
- excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills in a global team environment
- ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team
- excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Duties:
- we are currently looking to hire an engineer for the Rotordynamics group, in the Conceptual & Advanced Mechanical Design team which is responsible for advanced development in the fields of train rotordynamics, system dynamics and mechanical system design
- the role will cover following main areas:
- design, development and validation of high performance/high speed rotating structures equipped with advanced devices like magnetic, fluid film and roller bearings, seal, dampers
- advanced rotordynamic analysis to assess and insure dynamic stability of high speed machinery
- validation of designs through lab testing and field hardware review
- participation in the design and testing of prototype rotating machinery from the design phase through the validation and testing phase for the rotordynamic assessment
