The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- Required:
- relevant technical degree in materials (metallurgical) or welding technology
- fluent in English
- engineering experience related to metallic materials; metallurgical, metal forming, casting, forging or inspection technology
- demonstrated ability to read and apply industry standards and regulations
- Desired:
- engineering experience related to welding processes; selection, specification, qualification or testing of welding procedures
- experience in using PC and standard MS Office programs
- experience from oil & gas business
- ability to learn and pass knowledge on to team members
- willingness to travel to Stavanger for limited periods
Duties:
- Generally:
- provide engineering support on metallurgical topics, including metal forming, material selection, repair processes, welding and NDE
- Specifically:
- provide support to workshop in selection of welding and repair processes
- verification of third party weld procedures
- disposition material substitutions
- verify test reports and material certificates
- partake in design reviews
- partake in material selection, including metal forming processes
- partake in welding procedure qualifications
