The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering Master’s degree (Materials Engineering required) and/or equivalent minimum. Additional training in design of Subsea Production Systems will be beneficial
- experience/practice: min 3 years in design of Oil and Gas Materials Engineering or Marine Technology (demonstrating well all round engineering experience). Additional training in design of Subsea Production Systems will be beneficial
- experience in operational use of AutoCAD, ProEngineer software will be beneficial
- knowledge of International Standards like ASME, ANSI and API
- experience with material characterization and evaluation techniques
- knowledge of Drilling and Production equipment used in Oil and Gas industry will be beneficial
- good English verbal and written communication skills
Duties:
- selecting the best combination of materials for specific purposes
- analyzing data using computer modeling software
- assessing materials for specific qualities (such as electrical conductivity, durability, renewability)
- considering the implications for waste and other environmental pollution issues of any product or process
- working to solve problems that may arise either during the manufacturing process or with the finished product (e.g. problems caused by daily wear and tear or change of environment)
- helping to ensure that products comply with national and international legal and quality standards
- liaising with colleagues in manufacturing, technical and scientific support, purchasing and marketing
- supervising the work of materials engineering technicians and other staff
