Requirements:
- MSC degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Familiarity with forging, machining, and assembly operations of rotors for power generation equipment
- Experience with finite element analyses methods and tools
- DESIRED:
- Extensive experience with steam turbine product
- 10 years of design and analysis experience of big rotors
- Demonstrated interpersonal and technical skills

Duties:
- The Senior Engineer – Rotor Mechanical Design will lead major design initiatives and technology projects on steam turbine rotor in support of key business objectives. The person in this role will design and optimize steam turbine rotors to deliver on new product/technology introductions. This role will interface with various teams, including materials & process engineering and Global Supply Chain to develop new rotor design for next gen steam turbines for GE.
- Focus on design process and methods development that result in robust steam turbine component mechanical designs
- Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned technology responsibilities and programs
- Review and lead appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet specified product requirements
- Generate creative designs, improvements and solutions for implementing in advanced steam turbines
- Ensure the rotor designs conform to standard design practices and design records are maintained in accordance with procedures
- Impart acquired knowledge and experience to accelerate training/development of less experienced engineers
- Identify and implement rotor mechanical design process improvements
- Collaborate with Global Supply Chain in qualification of new rotor forging vendors
