The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- Mechanical/Chemical Engineering degree
- Applied Thermodynamic
- Turbomachinery fundamentals. Combustion and fuels basics.
- Experimental data acquisition/analysis theory and practice
- Experience in Combustion Engineering (Thermodynamic/Chemical)
- Fluent in either Italian or English
- DESIRED:
- Knowledge of Visual Basic, Fortran and Matlab programming
- CFD analysis codes experience
- Chemkin code experience
- Experienced in Dynamic Hysys utilization
Duties:
- ITO/OTR Phase:
- Calculate gas turbine performance (out of policy condition)
- Provide engineered solutions to meet customer requirement
- Define combustion system limits
- Fuel analysis and evaluation of environmental effect on gas turbine exhaust emission
- Define gas turbine operability window and provide guarantees on performances
- Define tailored gas turbine control logics and parameters to meet job requirements
- Participate to product development programs definition
- FIELD SUPPORT:
- Perform analysis of engine parameters to verify gas turbine behavior
- Participate to RCA related to combustion/performance system failure issues
- CM&U support
- GENERAL:
- Issue and manage job documentation
- Team work aptitude
- Strong work load organization to comply with productivity metrics
- Analytical skills
- Develop SW tools and procedure to improve team productivity
