The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
- working knowledge of geometrical modeling and meshing techniques
- desired minimum of 2 years practical knowledge and experience in creating geometric models and CFD mesh
- Desired:
- a solid understanding of CFD mesh models, their generation and quality requirements
- good experience in using the CAD modeling tool UNIGRAPHICS and CFD meshing tools ICEM-CFD Hexa and Tetra
- spatial reasoning skills with three dimensional geometry and design problems
- knowledge of fluid dynamics fundamentals
- ability to effectively communicate complex geometrical features
Duties:
- create three dimensional (3D) CAD geometry from 2D drawings
- simplify 3D geometrical models & surface extraction
- develop CFD mesh using Hexa, Tetra and Prism elements
- calculate near wall distances to meet the specified Y+ values
- deliver smooth mesh with the specified quality requirements and mesh size
- present status reports at regular intervals to review the progress
