The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- preferred 3 years of experience in an engineering position
- experience in Gas Turbine or Aircraft Engine design engineering/manufacturing of hot gas path components
- knowledge of engineering fundamentals & repair development
- knowledge or experience with special processes (welding, brazing, coatings, etc.)
- ability to plan and manage multiple programs
- solid project management skills
- ability to execute and consistently meet deadlines
- willingness to work above and beyond expected levels to meet business needs
- knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and how to apply
- desire to continuously learn and develop self
- displays lots of personal energy; strong bias for action; decisiveness
- strong demonstrated cross-functional integration, communication and presentation skills
- strong English oral and written communication skills
- strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- ability to guide and influence others
Duties:
- execute with minimal guidance RDs (Repair Documents) development
- recommend approach and lead repair development to meet the technical and program requirements. Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments - develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
- assure proper documentation of technical data is generated (DRB) to substantiate & introduce Changes in Design (CID), consistent with engineering policies and procedures (BP)
- providing repair engineering support, mainly: (DR) Departure Records dispositions for non-conforming hardware & RSS (Repair Source Substantiation) evaluation (including on-site repair process qualification)
- act as an EDC/RTCoE consultant for repair problem resolution
- support other GE Repair Engineers with RTS (Readiness To Serve)
- provide answers to customer's questions related to repair issues
- provide support to GE shops, repair development, repair clarification, repair upgrades
- active participation in cost reduction projects/activities
- provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
