The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Physics or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
background in acoustics and vibration theory and a minimum of 3 years experience of industrial acoustical measurements and outdoor noise modeling
Green Belt Certified (Employees only)
knowledge of English language (communicative level oral and written)
DESIRED:
MS in Physics with Acoustics background
Acoustics Engineer with minimum of 5 years experience in consulting, involving measurement, analysis and remediation
ability to develop outdoor noise models to predict sound pressure level radiated by assemblies of large, stationary, noise-generating industrial equipment, at both near-field and far-field locations
experience with professional noise-modeling software, such as CADNA-A or SOUNDPLAN
knowledge of AutoCAD-LT and Microsoft Excel for noise modeling purposes
ability to perform analyses utilizing appropriate classical and computer aided techniques
field experience in measurement, data analysis and preparation of reports for demonstrating noise level compliance
knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards applicable to Gas Turbine Packaging and community noise plus familiarity with the equivalent European Codes
thorough, accurate with good communication skills and be able to develop concise final reports and present the results
ability to work with minimal supervision
proven ability to work in a multi-task environment

Duties:

measurement, analysis and design recommendations for gas turbine generator packages and support equipment
design functionality, safety, integrity and compliance with appropriate Codes and GE Design Practices
design review support
application of appropriate Six Sigma and DFSS tools
