Requirements:
- bachelor/Master degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
- at least 5 additional years of technical leadership experience in the area of turbine engine internal module and component design, specifically compressor, combustor, high pressure turbine, low pressure turbine and mechanical systems
- ability to lead multi-functional and multi-cultural teams
- recognized authority in systems and technology issues
- ability to initiate total quality and change initiatives
- strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Duties:
- provide sustaining effort for the M601 and H80 turboprops; manage the launch of the H80 product introduction and EIS; initiation and execution of new product development for the H85 growth engine as well as development efforts for PEC products
- the position is responsible for all engineering functional activities associated with the create, execute and maintain phases of the turboprop product lifecycle. This team leverages the resources available from the GE Aviation engineering network and identifies synergies for implementation within GEAC for product and process improvements
- influence design concepts while leveraging historical data and experiences. Assure technical excellence and safety in all GEAC products
- provide consulting service to program managers and other personnel
- provide day-to-day leadership for the GEAC Product Engineering Centers
- integrates with the GE Aviation Engineering division to capture synergy opportunities and leverages the expertise of the global network
- set long range strategy for the growth of engineering talent to support future products
- coordinates talent reviews, long range growth strategies and annual operating reviews for the engineering function
- develops team by talent recruitment, training, mentoring and assignments
- plan/develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer productivity
- responsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs
- fully support manufacturing, sourcing, test, quality and service and product support to ensure optimal delivery, quality, cost and customer satisfaction of GEAC products and services
