The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Requirements:
- 2-5 years experience in subsea (could be also working in related disciplines in subsea e.g. controls)
- experienced in Project start up, execution and close out of medium - scale subsea projects
- strong interpersonal skills
- good commercial skills
- good understanding of contractual requirements
- strong problem solving abilities
- knowledge of working within a Quality environment (Particularly ISO 9001)
- prior experience in system delivery of subsea systems
- strong customer mindset
- ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
- ability to undertake occasional work on client site
- strong oral and written communication skills
Duties:
System Engineers role is to:
- work within EPC projects and perform various across the board functions to cover all aspects of System Engineering activities as defined below
- work at various levels in the design and execution phase of projects which range from small to large
- perform the detailed tasks on a daily basis to ensure that all elements of the project come together as one integrated unit, for final handover to our Customers
- plan & procedures:
- ensure all relevant system engineering procedures are in place
- assist with and/or producing system engineering deliverables in accordance with contractual requirements
- assist with /or produce schedule of activities for system engineering
- responsible for ensuring Technical Compliance of the equipment to relevant Laws, Rules, Regulations, Codes & standards
- assist the SEM in managing system engineering change
- the System Engineer tasks and responsibility would typically include some or all of the following depending on the project size: system design
- produce the design basis and philosophy documents with the assistance of others
- develop the SPS Design basis
- develop the overall Functional Design Specification
- develop the system P&IDs
- developing Field layouts in cooperation with the Client and the CoEs
- ensuring that the master equipment list is technically sound and producing the SDRL
- checking & approving documentation produced by the CoE system engineers as being consistent with the overall project system concept
- providing the technical requirements for SIT
- be an active member of the Offshore Coordination Team
- manage and resolve system engineering interfaces
- assist the CoEs in providing necessary technical systems information
- ensure delivery of all required flow assurance, erosion, thermal and vibration analysis specified in System Engineering scope
- ensure delivery of all required materials selection strategies and Cathodic protection philosophy specified in System Engineering scope
- follow up of technical qualification programs and ensuring the designs are aligned with the results
- review equipment qualification status and developing the qualification test plan
- establish and follow-up design Verification Plan
- assist/ produce Readiness Review documentation to check the maturity of projects
- assist development and Management of the technical risks register
- ensure that engineering risk is reviewed as the project proceeds
- coordinate support for customer engineering activities such as HAZOPs and Installation reviews
- ensure that all Technical Assurance activities are defined and planned for as per Contract
- ensure delivery of all required Technical Assurance documentation and analysis specified in System Engineering scope
