Design Engineer (O/DEDP/BDI)

The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

• minimum qualifications: MSc or BSc degree in Engineering or equivalent national vocational qualification
• prior work experience with the application of Pro-Engineer, software or equivalent 3D modelling software is beneficial
• note internal training & coaching will be provided to successful candidate to meet required levels, with suitable calibre post graduate applicants also open for consideration

Duties:

• the open position is within the Subsea Tree Systems organization located in the Poland regional team and office with existing engineers and designers
• the role will work on both component and assembly engineering elements of subsea tree systems for current Projects, Product Line Extension (PLE) or DMP programs
• interpret customer specifications to produce design specifications
• develop conceptual design requirements for customer
• identify and ensure equipment is designed in accordance with the current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
• identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications
• communicate design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers
• create designs and participate in material design reviews including materials and environmental reviews
• create 3D models and drawings to manufacturing standards for Pro-NC manufacture
• create Bill of Materials (BOM) in PIMS for approval by Engineers
• undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: risk analysis, failure analysis, and design reviews, calculations to establish a full Design Verification Package (DVP). Ensure DVP has third party or independent review
• create Factory Acceptance (FAT) procedures, Prototype Test Procedures and document results (PVT) for approval by Engineers
• ensure all engineering activities and documents are correctly archived in PIMS. -Maintains a clean and safe working environment
• liase with manufacturing to ensure designs are suitable and allow for efficient manufacture. Provide manufacturing support as required
