The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil & Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

Master (or BS) degree in Technical University (preferably in the field of mechanical engineering)
good knowledge of CAD software i.e. UG, ANSYS or similar
knowledge of Materials Engineering, understanding of processing of metals (e.g. welding, heat treatment)
project management skills and knowledge of quality standards required
full responsibility for tasks taken
intermediate (communicative) knowledge of spoken and written English
ability to work independently and within a team environment
strong interpersonal and communication skills
self-motivated and good team player
both experienced and graduates wanted

Duties:

mechanical design of High Pressure Turbine parts (disks, seals, structural hardware, etc.) - both FEM and hand calculations
analytical manufacturing support - evaluation of non-conforming hardware from the design standpoint, understanding of manufacturing processes
analytical field support - design support of High Pressure Turbine maintenance, looking for cost reduction opportunities, solving customer's issues
interface with cross-functional teams to develop high value engine components with high reliability
prepare analysis reports and documentation
participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
provide timely communication on projects status
visit customer sites when necessary
