Employer description:

The Engineering Design Center ( www.edcpolska.pl ) is one of General Electric (GE) global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC is providing engineering services for three GE businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy and GE Oil&Gas. Currently we are looking for a candidate to work on a position of Performance Engineer in the Advanced Mechanical Design Team for GE Aviation.

Requirements:

  • MSc in Engineering
  • minimum 3 year of experience relevant to indicated position, areas of expertise and knowledge of disciplines like: Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Cycle Calculation etc.
  • fundamental understanding of the aircraft engine, gas turbine design (compressor, combustor, turbine etc.)
  • acquisition and reduction of test data experience would be an additional asset
  • demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • team worker, hard worker, fast-learner, open- minded person, optimistic attitude

Duties:

  • the Technical Leader will be responsible for leading and executing all associated activities related to Performance team work-scope: modeling, predicting, analyzing and advising on engine performance for GE Aviation products
  • responsibilities:
  • predict and assess overall engine and component performance and operability
  • address / lead efforts to meet and exceed expected levels of performance and operability towards FAA/EASA certification
  • support GE businesses, and internal / external customers to resolve performance related problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
  • maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely, completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
  • achieve the deliverables and oversee gas turbine thermodynamics, thermodynamic (cycle) modeling, engine testing, and leveraging test data to model and predict engine performance and operability across the flight envelope
  • participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • assure proper documentation of generated technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • monitor and communicate project tasks status, issues and significant developments
